Ọjọ kan, ni igba kan ri, ni abule kekere kan ti a npe ni Ilé-Ìfẹ́, ọmọdékunrin kan wa ti orukọ rẹ̀ jẹ Akin. Akin jẹ́ ọmọ ti o lẹwa ati ọlọgbọn, o si fẹran lati ran ẹbi rẹ ati awọn ọrẹ rẹ lọwọ.
Ọjọ kan, baba Akin ranṣẹ si ọja lati ra ounjẹ fun awọn ẹran ile. Ọna lati ọja gun, Akin si gba ile ni kutukutu owurọ. Bi o ti n rin lo, o kọrin pẹlu ayọ, nítorí òun fẹran ìrin-ajo.

Akin fi agbára rẹ pọ̀, ó sì sọ fún ekun náà pé: “Ekun, ohun tí ó ṣe nítorí kini? Kí lo fé?”
Ekun náà dáhùn, “Mo jẹ ọba igbo yi, mo si níláti ṣe àṣàyàn ninu gbogbo ènìyàn ti ó n wá sí ibè. Ṣugbọn o dá mi loju pe o jẹ ọmọdé onígboyà. Nítorí náà, èmi ò ní pa ẹ. Ṣùgbọ́n mo fẹ́ láti wo bí o ṣe le máa pa àwọn eranko ilẹ yi lọwọ èmi.”
Akin fẹ́ lati fi hàn pe òun jẹ́ ọmọdé ọlọlá, ó sì gba ekun náà láti bá a lọ sí abúlé rẹ̀. Nígbà tí wọn dé abúlé, gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn yà níbẹ̀rù ekun, ṣùgbọ́n Akin wí fún wọn pé: “Ẹ má bẹ̀rù, ekun yi kò ní ṣe nípa rere, ó wá láti ṣe àlàyé ati láti kó gbogbo wa ní ríràn àràndà ọmọnikeji.”
Awọn ọmọ abúlé kọ́ bí ó ṣe yẹ kí wọn máa hùwà tó bá jẹ pé ẹran ọdẹ wá láti ṣe ìjà. Wọ́n kọ́ ẹkún ní bí ó ṣe lè máa ṣíṣèpọ̀, kí wọn máa fọ̀kan tán-an bí ó ṣe n hùwà ìlògbò. Ní àkókò náà, ekun náà sì fi ayọ mọ́ àwọn ènìyàn ti Ilé-Ìfẹ́.
Láìpẹ́, Akin di ọ̀kan ninu àwọn olóòtú abúlé rẹ̀, ó sì jẹ́ aláṣeyọrí tó ṣẹ̀dá àlááfíà nínú ààfin igbo àti abúlé. Wọ́n kẹ́dùn àgbà á gbé, wọ́n sì máa n sọ ìtàn náà fún àwọn ọmọ wọn.

Akin and the Lion’s Fight
Once upon a time, in a small village called Ilé-Ìfẹ́, there was a boy named Akin. Akin was a handsome and intelligent child who loved to help his family and friends.
One day, Akin’s father sent him to the market to buy food for the household animals. The path to the market was long, and Akin set out early in the morning. As he walked, he sang joyfully, for he enjoyed the journey.
When Akin reached a forest along his way, he heard a beautiful sound echoing through the trees. He stopped to listen, but was startled when he heard a menacing roar – the sound of a lion. Akin was frightened, but he decided to be brave and strong. He knew that whenever he faced a challenge, he should not run away. He looked around carefully and saw a large lion approaching him.
Akin gathered his courage and said to the lion: “Lion, why are you doing this? What do you want?”
The lion replied, “I am the king of this forest, and I must examine everyone who comes here. But I can see that you are a brave child. Therefore, I will not harm you. However, I want to see how you can protect the animals of this land from me.”
Akin wanted to prove that he was a noble child, so he agreed to bring the lion to his village. When they arrived at the village, everyone was afraid of the lion, but Akin said to them: “Do not be afraid, this lion will not harm anyone, he has come to make peace and to teach us how to protect each other.”
The villagers learned how to behave when a wild animal approached. They taught the lion how to cooperate and to trust others in his conduct. In the meantime, the lion joyfully accepted the people of Ilé-Ìfẹ́.
Before long, Akin became one of the leaders of his village, creating harmony between the forest animals and the villagers. They lived in peace and always told this story to their children.
Moral: Courage and good behavior can lead to cooperation, as everyone can benefit from the actions of one person.
